Faced with the post covid reality of working from home, our friend John commissioned us to create a desk that would inspire him to decamp from the dining table, and take time out for his daily meditation practice. Tailored to his taste, and intended to be passed on down the generations—notwithstanding the possible obsolescence of such work spaces in the not to distant future—the desk has been designed to accommodate a mechanised standing mode, should that be required, and niches to house objects for ritual contemplation.
